We believe that a broad background in the social studies is important in helping students acquire the skills and concepts necessary to participate intelligently in a complex world.  Regardless of their future plans, all students will benefit from these goals fostered by the Social Studies Department:

  • developing better inter-personal relationships,

  • appreciating the contributions of all segments of our rich multi-cultural society,

  • creating an awareness of the global community, and

  • improving competency in civics and economics.

Congratulations Mr. Ellery

Mr. Ellery was selected and attended a Landmark of American History & Culture workshop by the National Endowment of Humanities this summer.  Mr. Ellery participated in the workshop titled, "The Most Southern Place on Earth:  Music, History, and Culture in the Mississippi Delta," a one-week program at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi.
